Duo Passioné in the form of violin-accordion has been created in 2015. The duo members are violinist Daniela Grygarová and accordionist Marcela Kysová. In the repertoire, the duo focuses on compositions of different styles and genres. Special compositions include entertainment and dance music, such as the Argentinean tango, the French musette and the adaptation of Balkan folk songs. Duo give concerts both in the Czech Republic and abroad, participates at the international music competitions, various courses and workshops.
Dr. Marcela Kysová – Halmová – akordeon
Was born on December 3rd, 1983 in Topolčany. She studied at the Conservatory in Bratislava and then at the Janáček Conservatory in Ostrava tutored by MgA. Jan Meisl, ArtD. She continued her studies at the University of Žilina at the branch of accordion performance led by MgA. Janka Halačová. Since 2008, she has been a doctoral student at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice under a supervision of prof. Joachim Pichura. Marcela Kysová is a laureate of many international accordion competitions (1st prize – Wroclaw, Tvrdošín, Pardubice, ŠVOČ – Žilina, 3rd prize – Przemyśl, Reinach, Košice, 4th prize – Wroclaw, Poprad, 5th prize – Castelfidardo, 8. price – London). Currently she is teaching at the Janáček Conservatory in Ostrava (from 2004) and the Art School in Moravská Ostrava. She is a co-organizer and lecturer of various accordion seminars, workshops and courses. She is the main initiator and organizer of the “International Accordion Competition Ostrava”, which has been held since 2012. Marcela gives concerts at the Czech Republic and abroad, being also invited as a jury of major accordion competitions. She has been hosted at the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre, the National Theatre in Brno and has been filmed several times for Czech Radio and Television. She collaborates with the Janacek May Music Agency, the Music Artists and Scientists Association and the Musical Presents Festival, for which she organizes the “Days of Accordion”. From 2015 she plays in a chamber duo with Daniela Grygarová.
